My class was given the opportunity to create and brand a hypothetical company, followed by a specific line of products. I decided to go a more colorful and bubbly route, and thus I created Lil’ Witches, a children’s toiletries company. I was inspired by the childhood rite of passage that is “potion making”. I feel we can all remember a time that we used our parents’ expensive shampoos and perfumes to make a mess in the bathtub or sink. I wanted my brand to really emulate this childhood wonder.
This project allowed me the opportunity to express my love of illustration, and I had a great deal of fun combining my doodles with packaging design. Overall this project taught me the most about the importance of brand consistency and perfecting mock-ups. After a great deal of trial and error, I was able to turn in a project I am proud of.
