Fantasy World

Print Design, Editorial

Every year the freshmen at Johnson & Wales are assigned the “Fantasy World” Photoshop project. I decided to center my fantasy world around Rhode Island and the potential yet exaggerated consequences of global warming. Eventually, I decided to add additional content, such as a UFO attacking this new Earth and a providence sea monster.

I mainly used images from Pexels and Adobe Stock. This challenge both sharpened our photoshop skills but also showed us the different features of the program. We learned to make our images blend in with one another, to lessen the collaged look and create a more unified piece. To make my unnamed providence sea monster more engaging and detailed, I cropped and edited stock images of octopus tentacles.

Overall this is my favorite project from my first year at JWU. I believe I created a concept that reflects my creativity and executed it in a way that perfectly reflected the image I had in my mind.
